What is the going rate for mileage reimbursement for Workman’s Comp benefits in Georgia?
Yes. the workman’s comp companies do pay for mileage because an employee has to keep up with all the places they go for treatment (doctors, pt, tests, hospitals etc.).

The IRS is currently allowing .485 cents per mile for mileage reimbursement. I’m guessing that the Workman’s Comp policy would reimburse at the federal rate but it is just a guess. Any local insurance agent could tell you.
Hmm. I was unaware that Workers Comp had ANY milage allowance. I’ve never heard of it.
I tried searching the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Comp web page, and I’m not sure I found the correct number. The fee schedule they had listed said $0.40 per mile, but that might be what field nurses are allowed to charge. It varies from state to state, but it’s usually in that ballpark. It looks like Georgia doesn’t have a minimum travel distance before it kicks in, which works to your advantage.
In some of the states I handle, like Arkansas (where the mileage rate is 39 cents a mile), the employee does get reimbursed for any distance they have to travel, even if it’s like 10 miles. In other states, there are more restrictions and they do not reimburse for short distances. I would suggest contacting the work comp adjuster and asking about it or you could also contact the work comp division.
HOw many message boards are you going to ask this question…? The
mileage reimbursement is not based on a poll, or democratic
consensus. The federal mileage rate is 50 cents now. Whether GA
uses the fed rate is not determined here. Call the claims adjuster,
or the GA WC commission, they would also provide you the form.
