Socialism for the rich — Medicare?
I do not like the idea that Republicans who are opposed to government programs can benefit from them such as Unemployment, Workers Comp and Disability, and I especially am angry that wealthy Republicans can receive subsidized health care through Medicare, when they deny subisidized health care for working people.
exactly
Would you support ending these programs altogether as well?
I would. I am a libertarian.
it’s funny that Pubs “SAY” they so vehemently oppose entitlement programs,
YET TAKE SOCIAL SECURITY!
Hypocrites!
Then why do you think YOU have the right to benefit from our military?
You’ll be moving soon, I’m sure, so as not to be a hypocrite.
“it’s funny that Pubs “SAY” they so vehemently oppose entitlement programs, YET TAKE SOCIAL SECURITY!”
How dare they pay into a bogus system all of their working lives and have the audacity to take only a fraction of what they paid in.
IT’S THEIR MONEY, HONEY.
The same can be said for Medicare. All of their working lives they pay into that system w/o option — they pay for someone else’s health care only to put the shoe on the other foot when they retire.
I find it strange that you guys support ANY ponzi scheme coming from D.C. — there’s one truth in these programs. Costs continue to rise until we’re met w/ a cross-road:
1. Raise taxes
2. Cut benefits
Concentrating on Red and Blue, stuck in attack mode, has rendered you all mental-giants. Objectivity has taken a back seat…
I suggest you look into debating tactics. Find out where class warfare falls on that list. Pretending that the White House hasn’t used that tactic to get what they want is foolish — and the white house is exploiting that foolishness. They’re using you.
Due diligence is virtue — w/o it, you’re subject to what people tell you. Take the time…do the research…
Unemployment and Disability are an insurance policies, that we’re compelled to buy. Why shouldn’t we utilize them if needed? We also untilize health, auto and homeowner’s insurance too, because we’re responsible.
Medicare is a forced requirement, imposed by the government. They have zero choice. (Like the rest of us very soon).
Clue to the clueless: 90% of Republicans are middle-class or poor, and are conservative based on principle not emotionalism.
God, please inform yourself before asking inane questions that make you look very ignorant.
For the past 40 years I have had money deducted from each paycheck for social security! An entitlement program is one in which you have paid nothing into but still receive the benefits. These programs are paid for by tax dollars, also deducted from each of my paychecks! Personally, I would have preferred to keep my money and be responsible for my own well being after retirement but as usual the government took that option from me!
The government already subsidizes health care by giving employers huge tax breaks for providing health insurance to their employees. It is difficult to find a doctor who accepts Medicare at this time and it is going to be cut some more. I didn’t hear this on FOX. My sister is on Medicare. This is what she told me. That isn’t a lie made up by Republicans or FOX. Do you understand that people have valid reasons for opposing this? Can you even consider such a thing? No.
You are loyal to your party rather than to the people of this country just like our lousy so-called representatives. When are you people going to see that your government is only concerned with where their next election donation comes from? When will you get it?
Sorry to say this, but that is what the American people allowed. Though now, by electing Obama, the USA has said they want things to change. Now, it is up to the elected politicians to respect that wish.
FACT – Insurance companies in the USA admit to pushing up prices, buying politicians and not paying out claims when they should [1]
FACT – PER PERSON the USA spends more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet [2]
FACT – Obama debated his plans before the election for healthcare [3]
FACT – the chance of a child under five of dying in the USA is greater than industrialised nations with universal health coverage [4]
FACT – Obama was elected by the American people to bring in change [5]
FACT – Obama wants to stop insurance companies from screwing American [6]
FACT – The reforms Obama wants work in the Netherlands and Switzerland [7]
Let me know if my facts are wrong, but please provide proof.
