Permanent Partial Disability of 8%?

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

I now have an impairment of 8% total body and have permanent restrictions. This is workers comp. Because of the restrictions, I can not go back to my last job position. The only position that I could do is at minimum wage at 32 hours. Needless to say, I am not happy about this. Is there anything I could do? If I apply for another job, would I have to tell them about the impairment?

Any answers would be helpful.

  1. I ws just told I have 10% total disability and permanent restrictions also. Tuesday I am going for an independant medical exam that I have requested from the work comp board, because the original work comp doctors said there was nothing more they could do. Have you requested an IME from work comp? If you haven’t you should try that first.

  2. It would help tremendously if you would provide your STATE… WC
laws are STATE specific. If you cannot return to your pre injury
job functions, you may be eligible for a VR program to retrain to
another profession. You haven’t provided enough info here to tell
what your options may be. STATE please… STATE.
