If I have no kids but have Scoleosis,is that considered disabling
enough to get Medic-al and go on disability?
I suffer from Scoleosis I recently found out.I get a lot of pain form it.I also have been suffering from depression following severe workplace harassment.I am persuing a workers comp claim for the damage they caused. Is this enough to go on disability?I have heard that they deny 80% of disability applicants.I likely have a brain chemical imbalance too.

The only way to find out if you qualify for disability or not is to just apply. If they refuse your application, then I suggest finding another job. No job is worth all that stress, hunny! DO NOT put up with anyone’s bullcrap, DO NOT let anyone walk all over you and take advantage of you! DO NOT let anyone mentally of emotionally or physically abuse you! and DO NOT let anyone abuse your rights as a human!
Cheers
only way to know that is to visit a DR as in order to get disability a DR needs to verify that your scoliosis is severe enough to not be able to work.
Only if the Scoleosis is debilitating will you get cash from uncle sam.
DO not apply and apply and reapply for SSA/SSDI benefits. That will
only serve to extend the process and be a reason for denial. When
you apply there are specific medical records necessary along with
medical evidence provided by your treating physicians to support
your claim of disability. SSA does not take only the one
”disabling” complication into consideration when determining if
you meet their criteria of ”disablity” There is a FIVE STEP
PROSSESS used by SSA to determine if you are disabled under their
rules. Info on that is here http://www.ssa.gov/dibplan/dqualify5.htm. You
can get additional help at the SSA web site…www.ssa.gov File the
application. In the meantime, get an atty to help you with the WC
claim. Stress/psych claims are difficult but not impossible. But,
you should also know the process for a WC psych claim can be cause
for much more stress than what you might be claiming your job has
caused.
If your Scoliosis is debilitating enough that you aren’t able to maintain gainful employment, you can get disability and medical care also.
If you are able to work, and you can’t work full time you may be able to get partial disability.
You need to talk to your doctor and know your prognosis, and if he determines that you shouldn’t work, he can write a statement. That’s usually enough to start the process and eventually getting it. Good luck
Most of the time, you are going to get denied for disability regardless of your complaint. However, if you are able to apply several times, you often will get accepted eventually. As long as your doctor will fill out the application and is mildly interested in assisting you in this process, you should eventually get covered.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that getting disability is the best route for you to go. It sounds to me like that might actually be the last thing you need right now. Staying active socially by maintaining a job might be helpful. Also, although this might sound mean, it seems like you might have a habit of trying to blame other people for your problems. Blaming 1) workplace harassment, 2) scoliosis, 3) brain chemical imbalance, will probably not get you very far in life whether or not you trick the overwhelmed disability office into granting your request.
I am an expert Workman’s comp, social security, and I know a little about your disease. I ran a Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain support group for a few years. The one woman who had scoliosis went to a chiropractor for a long period and spent gobs and gobs of money. She got the disease under control. This did not happen with others in our group. This woman is on disability because of Fibromyalgia or whatever. You probably have other syndromes/diseases that have been triggered by your problem.
Depression may be also fatigue caused by stress and there is NOTHING wrong with being stressed out. Workman’s comp. does not necessarily give you a plus to get disability. Your doctors must put forth a strong effort to get you on disability. You would be amazed with the horror stories of Workman’s comp and Social Security benefits. You could be denied up to seven years. If so, you would get money back from 6 months after you filed the first time. If you want to contact me at grannywinkie@yahoo.com and be sure that you put on the subject line “Chronic pain support help, please”. If you do not use those words, I will delete your mail so that I do not get a virus. Thanks and God bless you.
