I slipped on a greasy floor at work and workers comp. is denying my hospital bill. How can they do that??

I sustained an injury at work three months prior to falling and workers comp is handling that, but I had to be transported to the hospital after the fall due to severe pain from the original injury. The workers comp insurance co. is refusing to pay my hospital and e.m.s. bill because “employee did not sustain injury.” No, I didn’t sustain further injury, but I still had to get medical treatment for falling, AT WORK, and irritating the already present issue. How can they deny being responsible, and what can I do??

  1. You can appeal. You also need to go to a doctor that states your prior injury was aggravated by this fall. If you can get any witness statements that may help also.

  2. Gather witnesses, get your Dr’s record stating it was aggravated or prolonged your injury. If they refuse to pay then you can go to the state workforce commission and file a complaint.
