I’ll make this short and sweet. I am a nurse, I hurt my back at work, saw my doctor, my work is harassing me about how im fine and im abusing the system. My doctor kept me out for about a month and a half just letting my back muscles rest, that didnt help so we got an MRI, then now, ive done about a week of physical therapy.

My doctor told me that my back showed a mild disc disease (weaking of cartiledge) which happens to everyone its not a very serious condition (im only 23). I go to physical therapy and it doesnt seem to help as much as it should, it does help though. my pt told me she wanted my mri results, so i got the offical copy of the paper and it says that I have three discs bulging and some other stuff. While I was at my doctors she asked me if I was ready to go back and I explained no I dont think just yet I just started PT (pysical therapy). I have a feeling that I’m going to start being denied and I’m not sue happy I just want to make sure I get what I need. I WAS HURT saving an Alzheimer patients life I mean jesus.

How can I be sure I get a good laywer, I’m not looking for money, I want to get better and go back to nursing.

  1. Call your local bar association. They usually have lists of attorneys who are specialize in certain types of laws. You can also check a book. I believe it is called Martindale-Hubble which rates attorneys in every state.

  2. Got a lotta rant going there… and don’t try to fool anyone, you
ARE looking for money. Go to the WC board/commission, there are
usually ombudsman available to assist injured workers. Consult with
a few attys handling primarily workers compensation claims. You
haven’t provided enough information to tell what the status of your
claim is…but you should know an PT person is NOT in the position
to certify your leave from work due to your injury. WC laws are
state specific… post your state next time and you’ll get better
    answers.
