How much does My Employer have to pay a year on unemployment &
Workman’s comp?
I am negotiateing On how much I should make a YEAR as a Store manager! I asked for 24k a year and she said it would cost her 32k a year after unemployment&Workmans comp.
It’s retail like bath and body work’s but its just one store and online stuff! it would be me all week alone and another girl on friday as its busy!

Unemployment is a state program, and it varies state by state. It also varies by the store’s unemployment history (the more people laid off, the higher the tax). Same with workers comp.
Even so, 33% seems a bit high for those. Unemployment is typically less than one percent for a “decent” employer; can get up to about 10%, depending on the state, for a fire-happy employer. Perhaps she is including payroll taxes, too? Or maybe she fires people right and left, or the store is especially hazardous? I would question why such a high experience rate.

the workmen’s comp will depend on the rate because every occupation has a different rate
when the employer is doing this, in a way he is making you pay your own insurance etc and that is not right
it probably will cost them the additional amount but that is all a part of operating a business and having employee, he could operate the place by himself and avoid all of it
