What about Estate tax and tax on Social Security benefits? isn’t that double taxation? Who loves to pay tax on the money you have already paid tax on or you paid tax on when you were alive? What about Exit tax congress is trying to pass? Isn’t that same as what Nazis did to the Jews back in WWII? Regarding taxes in Europe, remember many of them have better social benefits, free health care and free education. I think our ancestors who left England paid less taxes than we do now, and they were free to leave. Are we free to leave to protect your hard earned money? Constitution says you can, but it’s extremely difficult in reality. What does that say about our tax system? Please consider all angles before reply.
I dun’t know if its the most unfair tax system in the world, but definately one of the most complex. There is not a standard or unform tax. Different situations apply different taxes. So in that regard maybe it is the most unfair tax system in the world.
In australia interest payments on your home are not tax deductible but interest payments on your investment properties are?
I dont deem this to be very fair but its how it is. So theres always going to be complaints about tax.
US taxes are most unfair to the middle class. The poor get a break The rich don’t care but have had breaks. No Taxes? Society would just become a free for all, with the poor & middle class trampled to death in the super rat race.
Go to the airport, take the next airplane to Schiphol, Amsterdam. Your tax system and taxation percentages are laughable as to what happens in Europe. That would be my advice to any US citizen. Gas tax too high? Just for feeling better, go and check out the gas prices in Northern European countries. My income isn’t hugely much, but it is already taxed 40%.
Hardly. And a lot of those “taxes” you list are not taxes at all. They are fees. And a few of them are figments of your imagination, such as “Workers Compensation Tax” or are a single tax stated multiple ways.
The poster who suggested you hop a filght ot Europe is dead on the mark. Taxes are far higher there. Most Americans have no clue how good we have it.

Our tax system may not be easy to understand but it is ours and we love it. People sell their bodies to buy passage to the USA and we have border guards to try and keep them out. Most other countries have border guards there to keep the people in.
It is a very complex system, but “fair” is a matter of morality and emotions, something of which one cannot talk when discussing taxes.

I worked in Mass. Paid the Mass income tax and got nothing in
return because I lived in NH. I couldn’t go to their colleges at a
reduced rate, nothing, no health ins. , which they have if
unemployed. Yeah I got a lay off when Raytheon and ATT layed of
half a million people in Mass. Weld or Celluci as Gov. not a squawk
from them. The entire state now is a wasteland. Property taxes here
in NH are among the highest in the world and we have no jobs to
earn enough to pay them. Forclosed property notices litter half a
dozen pages of the union leader news. Maybe you see one or two
jobs, nursing or telephone banks . Guess the jobs went to Mexico
don’t know how they security clearences down there, guess they
don’t use em. no jobs here , kids have to join the armed services
to support their families. maybe thats the reason. cannon fodder
needed, shut the jobs down, banks forclose on homes, raise college
tuition ( we own and pay for the state colleges in Mass and NH and
can’t afford to send our kids there) guess we have to take out a
home loan , get in debt again to the BANKS. THE MONEY CHANGERS AND
GRUBS HAVE RAPED US. THROW THEM IN JAIL. TEA PARTY AIN’T ENOUGH.

reason we have no border guards here in the land of the
moneychangers , the usa, is because we have reduced the labor force
to slaves. Last few decades, americans forced to spend hundreds per
week on insuring their families, hundreds per week on property
taxes, hundreds per week paying their kids tuition at schools which
are owned and supported by them (state prop taxes )the system has
screwed the citizens over to the point where they can’t play the
game without getting a fair wage. AND THE MONEY CHANGERS AND THEIR
BIG BUSINESS GOONS DON’T WANT TO PAY A LIVING WAGE. ENTER THE
ILLEGAL ALIENS, NO WORRY, THEY COME IN , COLLECT FROM SOCIAL
WELFARE PROGRAMS, FILL THEIR GUTS UP WITH WELFARE FOOD, GO TO
SCHOOL FREE, GET ALL THE HELP THEY NEED TO SURVIVE. NOBODY HELPS
THE CITIZENS , THEY ROT. THATS WHY BIG BUSINESS AND THEIR POLITICAL
HENCHMEN DON’T ALLOW BORDER GUARDS. CHEAP LABOR, SCAB LABOR IS USED
