Carpal Tunnel Workers Comp case for 2nd time, any advice?
They gave me lifetime medical but it’s taken them a year to schedule me an agreed medical/legal evaluation after only authorizing only one doctor visit and 3 medicine refills for my Norco and Naproxen. But they denied the electrical conductive test the doctor requested to determine the severity for further treatment, so stopped treating me altogether, including meds.
You’re exactly right.
My family physician is still seeing me, though, by letting me schedule any appointments for prescribing medications or for refills, wrist supports or anything tiny like that and only that.
I do, however, have an Agreed Medical/Legal Evaluation appointment with a specialist in San Francisco on July 8th, to begin seeing him as my regular workers comp. physician, though.
He will be fully treating me, as well as doing the surgeries, too.
My question is, Does anyone have any suggestions, other than hot parafin wax therapy, cold packs, hot water soaks, Norco and Naproxen that may help ease the endless swelling, cramping, aching and pain when the before mentioned doesn’t work efectively anymore, from personal experience?
I would be forever grateful if anybody could share with me anything that I haven’t tried already. ![]()

Unfortunately you are at the mercy of Workman’s Comp. You really have to wait on them unless you want to pay for the doctor visits out of your own pocket. The healthcare system today is really disappointing unless you work for a hospital, which has great benefits. Sorry but I don’t think there is an easier way to make it work.
The AME/Agree Medical Examiner is not going to be your PTP/primary
treating physician… WC in Calif does not work that way. IF you
designate the AME to be your PTP, s/he can no longer be the AME…
You need to get a realistic understanding of how WC works before
you let this go too much further…something is missing here.
