ca workers comp under ciga want to request buyout?
does anyone have any idea how i could get this done:
injured in 1998, case closed in 2001 – the workers comp ins companies went bankrupt (2), i ended up with lifetime medical for my back with no cash settlement because the california insurance guarantee was covering my case by then.
i have fought for many years to get medical care, it is always a huge problem and many docs stop taking after some time. bills don’t get paid and phone calls don’t get returned for months, even after calls to supervisor.
i don’t know how to go about getting this type of case settled & closed. i’ve advised the ins co who maintains my claim on behalf of c.i.g.a several times that i would like to settle my case because of these problems, but i am always denied. any ideas ?????

I seriously doubt you’ll get a settlement on this.
You need to file the complaint in writing, with your state insurance department – but they have NO obligation to settle. And no incentive, either. You have to make it worth their while – like, 25% of the estimate of future medical bills.
