unemployment….?
ok i have to ask this because i asked before and didnt get a good answer and no one can seem to tell me…ok i have a attorney that handles my workers compensation because i hurt my back at work. i cant continuously left over 50 pounds which is required at my job….i filed for workers compensation and still awaiting approval …now heres the catch!!!…my employer (manager) told me to my face that i was fired because i hired a attorney to handle my case …iam in the state of florida….he said that his boss said if i hired a attorney im fired…is this right?…i filed for unemployment about 4 days ago and awaiting approval…will i get approved ? was it right how they fired me?..my girlfriends prego iam unemployed because of the workers comp case and also because i have no vechile and there arent many jobs available in my city ..which is deland florida…i have tried to get another job but most jobs require heavy lifting …and i cant lift anything right now….
No they can not fire you for hiring an attorney in any state.. and thats something I would talk to my attorney about, As far as unemployment goes.. they can try to block it, but they will need to give a good reason like you stopped showing up to work, etc. You can appeal this and your lawyer can help you with lawsuits to file for wrongful termination and pain and suffering. If you were hurt at work.. this is what workmans comp and disability insurance is for he had no right to fire you.
