Re: Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino Compensation
Dear C.G.C.C.
I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience I had at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. On August 30, 2009 around the time of 3PM I was playing Triple Play Video Poker while continuously playing max bet of 18 quarters during the entire sitting when at 3:45PM the machine hit a royal flush. The machine should have paid $1,000.00 and instead paid $125.00. I instantly located a casino server and requested assistance from casino management. An associate came over and opened the machine. He informed me that he would only be able to read off the last 20 bets. The machine stated that I had been playing max bet of 18 quarters until the few bets preceding the royal flush. Not once did I change the bet during the entire sitting. I was playing max bet of 18 quarters when the machine dropped the bet on its own down to a 6 quarter bet.
To further examine the matter, I requested a pit boss who then arrived twenty minutes later. He didn’t understand what happened so he asked for the slot manager. During the wait time, I continued to play the machine, as they stated there was nothing they could do until a tech arrived. Upon playing max bet as I had done previously, the machine once again, dropped from a bet of 18 quarters down to 9 this time. Later assistant slot shift manager John Soares, along with two other workers, arrived to inspect the machine. They opened the machine and saw the recent plays that had dropped once again. This machine had now dropped my max bet a total of two separate times. One of the gentlemen advised me that there was nothing wrong with the machine and said that often machines have problems with the buttons due to people spilling drinks on the machines. I informed the associates I wanted compensation of the $875 I was entitled to. John Soares believed me but said there was nothing he could do about it and added that he could buy dinner for my wife and I but that they could not pay out.
It concerns me that a better solution could not have been provided to me as I felt I had been treated unfairly. I believe it is the casino’s machine that is working fraudulently and should be further investigated, along with the matter I am disputing.
I trust that the California Gambling Control Commission will call me at the earliest convenience to schedule an appointment for us to get together in person to review the surveillance video tape of the machine from the hours of 3PM-6PM to watch it in slow motion. I would like to prove that I had not changed the bets during either of the two instances so we may resolve this matter to my satisfaction. Please give me a call at (559) 572-XXXX. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

I just changed some wordings, should be a little more clear at least.
What does this have to do with “workers compensation”
rights/statutes/rules. Or, do you take the stance you were
“working” at trying to win at playing a gambling machine in a
casino….?
The letter sounds fine to me but you might call this man’s office first since casino videos are sometimes taped over after a fairly short period of time to save money. Just saying….
I would address a few things in the letter:
-At the beginning of each round, does the machine display somewhere how much you are wagering?
-Why you would continue to play on a machine that you claimed to be faulty (that was your original premise)
