Did you know the Democrats have already named Al Franken to two key committees?
He hasn’t even been sworn in and he is already a member of Health, Education and Labor and Pensions and Judiciary.
With his vast experience in these areas is there any surprise?
Which does bring into question… what experience does he have to be on these committees?
He failed to carry required workers’ compensation insurance for employees who assisted him with his comedy and public speaking from 2002 to 2005 and had to pay the fine for not following the law.
Could that experience be helpful under Labor and Pensions?
And his corporation didn’t file income tax for California for four years. Maybe that would be good experience for the judiciary.
And he owes $70,000 in back income taxes in 16 other states.
Of course anyone who can get on Saturday Night Live deserves to run our country… that’s what America is all about… Hollywood.

Then, and only then, if you think you could have done a better job, run against him. That’s what it’s all about. If he can get there, so can you. All it takes is a desire and a great deal of ability.
Dd you know that Franken was a math genius at Harvard? Just because he chose comedy as his profession, doesn’t mean that he is not extremely intelligent. The new Sen. is a brilliant man.

Edit: I am more disturbed by the specter of one-party rule again. We saw how disastrous it was when the Republicans controlled the White House and Congress. It only serves to stifle debate and promote the ideological extremists of the party. The same will happen with Democrats, as we have already seen with them forcing through the Cap and Trade Bill with very little debate,. (or even reading the bill for that matter. How many House members had a chance to read the 300 page addendum that was added at 3:00am?)
