Is it ok in the state of florida to fire someone who hired a attorney to handle a workers comp case?

I was injured at work. I am currently awaiting workers comp. i went to pick up my check and i was told i was fired because i hired a attorney to handle my workers comp case. is that legal? And will i still be able to get my workers comp? i am currently unable to perform at my best because my back is killing me. i cant even sit down without hving pain?
what should i do?

  1. i think you should ask your attorney.
    i don’t think it is legal to do what your employer did, but your attorney is best qualified to help you in this situation.
