In my workers comp case, my employment insurance company requested for me to get a 2nd opinion from a state doctor. After Isee this doctor, what happers next? How long before, I here a response from that doctor or my attorney?

  1. Well it really depends on where you are at with your claim. It also depends on the situation, injury and such. Are you working? Are you off work? Have you been released from care?

    Generally when a state doctor exams a claimant it usually means that two parties can’t agree with something so the state decides to have their own doctor review the file and you. What they might be looking for is whether your done with treatment or issues regarding permanent partial disability (PPD).

    The report from the doctor will generally take about 14-45 days and once the insurance company receives it they will send it to your attorney with the results. Again, depending on the situation of the claim you and your attorney will review the findings and figure a course of action.
