Any settlement money is based on the % of PD you have post recovery. WC benefits are pretty much pre determined and state specific. Many states have scheduled loss awards...specific to the body part/s injured. You have not provided enough info here to tell what your situation may be. If you treat/recover and suffer NO permenant partial disability/impairment, and are returned to your job without restrictions... you receive no settlement money. No loss, no gain.
