Can you be made to use sick time for worker’s compensation injury appointments in PA?

I have a broken foot and I currently go on doctors appointments every two weeks. I try very hard to schedule them so that they don’t interfere with my work schedule but some do. When this happens I am told I have to use my sick time to cover the time off. Can my employer do that? I live in PA.

  1. If the injury happened at work, no. You could be sitting at home and the company paying your wages and running up their premiums paid to Workmans Comp. Sick time has no bearing on an injury at work case.
