Can a employer layoff or fire after being released from a work injury?

Short story. I was hurt back in Jan. I’ve been out of work starting in may until now. Rumor has it that my employer is going to let me go. Is there a time frame before they can do this.
This is in Pennsylvania.

  1. No, you can be fired because the sky is blue, but you can also quit because the sky is blue. All states including yours has some kind of at will employment.

  2. They cannot lay you off because of your back. However, they will find some other reason and it is hard to prove to a judge that the reason was because you were on workers comp.

  3. When people hurt their back, break their arm, fall down stairs, etc. why do they blame their employer for their clumsiness?
    Why can’t they take care of themselves?
    Why would they allow themselves to be put in that situation?
    Do you not have free will?

    I have know dozens of people that have collected workers comp over the years but have only known a couple that hurt themselves while being under the direction of their employer!

  4. Thre is no timeframe for a layoff by your employer. Your WC
    benefits would continue as long as your Dr says there is disability
    due to the injury. Heli56… go someplace else and spew your
    venom… you should be glad you are not in the position that you
    need WC benefits. No doubt if you do, you will step up and decline
    payment of wage loss, and pay for medical treatment out of your own
    pocket. In the meantime… get over yourself, if you can step that
    high.
