1. 300+ million Americans
2. 11-12 million illegals
3. 5% possibly getting welfare benefits, the rest are doing all the hard jobs.
4. If an employer pays $ 15 per hour for any particular job he has to pay nother $ 15 for social security, insurance, workers comp and other miscellaneous expenses. He is in reality spending about $ 30 per hour right.
5. Now that same emplyer who would normaly pay $ 30 per hour with all the needed and federaly mandated benefits, is only paying an illegal immigrant $ 8-10 dollars an hour, who is keeping all that money that should be going to the Federal Government for Taxes?
6. Immigrants cant get drivers licenses, buy houses, or go to college.
7. Whose is really losing? America or the Immigrants?

Do you actually think that the U.S government would allow them here if they were not beneficial? when they really saw what they considered to be a problem Afghanistan and Iraq, they reacted by ivading them and killing thousands of innocent people. All the money should be going to the federal government, you say? What about the under-the-table pay these immigrants get? If they were legal, they’d be paying taxes, like Americans do. But no… they don’t want to be legal. Why should they? Being illegal gives them more out of pocket pay, free health care, enough programs to get them and their 16 offspring through life. Not a bad deal. Too bad Americans don’t get these benefits.
here is my question, what happened to land of the free? America is run by a group of children that make the rules as they go that siut them at the time, without understanding how it can and does effect people.

They congregate in localities MAJORLY impacting education in those localities. Education and most benefits they take advantage of are paid for by state and local taxes which most do NOT proportionately pay. Even those that do generally pay at the rate of poor taxpayers. Since their education is funded by the middle class, they are being subsidized. That is why their own countries don’t let in poor immigrants and is why ours has limits on that as well.
The small amount paid by the employer for services AS I SAID BEFORE BUT WAS ERASED is part of the problem since it means the illegal immigrant worker that much further undercuts the wages of our working class. The American worker’s GROSS has to equal the illegal immigrant’s NET if the employer is not paying all fees required on the illegals salary. Otherwise it pays the employer to hire the illegal, every time.

I agree. I am tired of hearing about supposed illegal immigrants being on welfare and not paying taxes. They cannot avoid paying taxes, it comes right out of their paychecks and unless they have a American born child, they cannot get welfare. The welfare that family would get would be only for the child…an American citizen.

And for me, EVEN IF YOUR NUMBERS ARE RIGHT (and where did you get the 5% on welfare? I am more concerned with those going to govt. urgent care facilities which cannot turn them away – but I digress), I don’t care.
I am not being lied to, I am being told (and seeing) people of all races entering this country illegally. THAT is wrong… regardless of the numbers. Why is it ok for Mexico to have their immigration laws obeyed and not those of the US?

I agree, it is far too overrated a subject right now. People don’t seem to understand that it is being used as tool by the right wing for the upcoming elections. This was not even a talking point six months ago though it’s been happining for years. People will most likely fall for it and let the Republican’s take back the senate expecting something to get done. I suspect after the elections people will stop talking about it and nothing will change..
The illegals get welfare by stealing social security numbers and identities and using false papers. Therefore, the time limits under the Clinton welfare reform doesn’t apply to them because once the time limit is up, all they have to do is get new stolen social security numbers and identities and false papers and start all over again. American citizens who draw welfare are limited to the time limits from the welfare reform and are then cut off. American citizens who fall on hard times and have to turn to welfare assistance have a harder time finding jobs that pay enough to live off of because the illegals have taken jobs and depressed the wages of those jobs still available to American citizens. Therefore, those in the lower working class are highly unlikely to ever be able to “work their way up” since the opportunities have been stolen which will entrap these people into poverty with little to no way out.

You’re confusing some issues, people! Immigrants and illegal aliens are two entirely separate groups. One has legal status and the other does not.
First off, IMMIGRANTS are here legally! They have all of the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of citizens except the right to vote or hold public office. They can own property, work legally, MUST get driver’s licenses to drive legally, go to college, etc, etc, yadda, yadda.
ILLEGAL ALIENS are here without legal status. From that perspective, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. The reason that people enter the US illegally is primarily economic. Employers are willing to risk minimal fines to get the fruit of their labor for a substantially reduced cost. And yes, they are cheating the government out of tax revenues that are legally due.
The solution to the problem is fairly simple. We already have all of the laws on the books that are needed, we just need to start enforcing them. If employers were fined substantially for every undocumented worker (citizen, immigrant, illegal, or otherwise) and prosecuted for tax evasion for employment taxes not paid, the jobs for illegals would dry up overnight. If the jobs dried up, the flood of illegal aliens crossing the borders would slow to a trickle all by itself. If there were no illegals to do the work, legal workers — Americans and Immigrants alike — would get the jobs.
In the end, almost everyone is a loser in this situation. Illegal aliens are exploited by uncaring employers. The often die trying to enter the country. Legal workers — citizens and immigrants alike — lose jobs that they are entitled to. America in general loses due to the lack of tax income rightly due but unpaid by the employers. The only beneficiaries are the employers who illegally employ undocumented workers.
