Question by ☂Julia: Is it safe to send my SIN number in an e-mail?
My boss asked me to e-mail her my SIN number so she can fill out some workers’ comp info about when I cut myself on the job a few days ago. Is this.. safe? It doesn’t seem right. Should I give it to her over the phone instead?

One Response to “Is it safe to send my SIN number in an e-mail?”

  1. It is only safe if you,
    1. know the recipient
    2. sending it via a secure source (no third party)
Nothing is 100% foolproof when it comes to the internet.
I email my personal info all the time, as well as my service invoices and more, have yet to have a problem with security.
